Resident Evil Game
Resident Evil Game
Which Resident Evil game is best to start with if you’re new?
I’ve played a little of RE5 and one other that I can’t remember, and I really liked RE5.
Someone tell me what is a good Resident Evil game to start with for a beginner? Also if it’s multi tell me the system I should get it for.
If you really enjoyed RE5, I would have to suggest you play Resident Evil 4 next.
Although this seems like the illogical way to do it, since you don’t get the whole back story from 1-3, I will explain why 4 is the better choice. Resident Evil 4 was a different game then the previous 3 Resident Evil games. This didn’t just have to do with the fact that instead of zombies, there was crazed villagers. The villigers and lack of zombies themselves did however change the game. Instead of the mindless ambling zombies and then the ’special zombies’ found in the previous resident evils, you now how problem solving villagers that could wield weapons.
In Resident Evil 4 (as well as 5) they changed the gameplay entirely. They made the game so it would be favorable to old fans of the series as well as the typical “I love shooting things” kid. In the other 3 Resident Evil’s you typically found yourself running away from zombies to conserve ammo (if you had any left). That was the biggest and more noticeable change in Resident Evil 4: ammo dropped of bad guys. This makes the game less about surviving, and more about “kill everything with well placed shots so you can get more ammo to do the boss fights”.
Since you started with Resident Evil 5, this is the type of gameplay you are used to playing with. Resident Evil 4 is just a small step backwards from that type of gameplay… just… you don’t have that annoying partner there to keep alive as well.
Resident Evil 4 also has a really good story line, and the game itself takes about 8 hours (ish). It has a pretty good difficulty scale, and actually has a lot of replay value, because its simply just fun to keep playing through the game and maxing out your weapons and gear, and trying to beat it in various different ways.
Resident Evil 4 also comes with a Mercenaries mode, and Operation Ada. These are just more things for you to do. Operation Ada is a small story line that shows you what her character was doing while you were doing everything with your main character. Mercenaries mode allows you to select various characters from the game and go into areas and kill bad guys (the kind-of-zombie-villagers… its good fun).
Resident Evil 4 is on the Nintendo Wii (which, in my opinion is the best system to get it for), and also the PS2.
After you play through Resident Evil 4 to your heart’s content you can go and play Resident Evil 2. This game is a very different experience, but also similar. Very different because it is the other version of gameplay that I described, but the same atmosphere and storytelling. It’d be a good idea to go to number 2 after going through number 4 because the second game’s main character is Leon Kennedy, who is the main character in number 4.
