Resident Evil 4 help- kill all the zombies in the house?

How do you kill all of the zombies in the 2-level house where the president’s daughter hides in the cabinet? I tried going upstairs from the start and killing the zombies there, but as soon as they break through the window I’m as good as dead. What do you do?
I have Wii edition

1.block the windows with the cabinets in the first floor
2.go up stairs wait for the zombies
to come up stairs use a fire grenade
or shoot them with the shot gun when
they all get together
3.knock the ladder’s down when they start
coming through the windows
