What kind of game is Dreamfall: the longest journey?

I realize it’s “adventure”, but what does that mean exactly. Are we talking like Legend of Zelda? or what is it comparable to? I mostly play games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Would I like this one?
I do like to solve puzzles. Do you fight enemies or anything?

It goes by the old school definition of Adventure games, which involves a lot more thinking and puzzles and considerably less action.

If you’re into the action type games, like RE and SH, then odds are, you might find it a little slow. The plot is very involved and detailed, and a lot of time is spent listening to people talk. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing game, but the pace is a lot slower than Adventure games of today.

If you’re going to buy it, I suggest you try and pick up The Longest Journey (Dreamfall is the sequel) first, since the plots are tied together very closely.
