help I downloaded resident evil 2 for N64 rom but the thing come out wierd.?

yeah when I play it, it doesn’t fill up the whole screen, also when I try to adjust the options the writings all garbled up. What the heck am i supposed to do?
also the when a cutscene appears with people talking…it sounds like a bat getting raped by a beeping robot.
